Why this WI Hemp Grower is Ready to Close the Loophole (And Legalize for Real)

I’ve spent years building a CBD brand here in Wisconsin. I’ve gone through the licensing, the soil tests, and the endless paperwork to provide high-quality plant medicine to my community. But I’m going to say something that might surprise my fellow growers: It’s time to close the hemp loophole.
I'm saying this because I'm tired of the state making it impossible for us to actually compete.
The THCA Frustration
To keep my business viable and give my customers what they actually want, I have to source THCA products from partner farms in other states. Think about that: I have the license, I have the land, and I have the expertise, but I am legally barred from growing the very flower I’m allowed to sell.
It’s an insult to Wisconsin agriculture. We have the best soil and the best farmers in the world, yet Madison’s "Total THC" testing rules mean I have to ship in product from across the country instead of harvesting it from my own backyard.
Why Closing the Loophole is the "Nuclear Option"
For years, the "hemp loophole" has been a band-aid that allowed some version of cannabis to exist, but it also gave our legislators an excuse to ignore us. As long as the "gray market" exists, there’s no political pressure to pass a real bill.
If we close that loophole, the band-aid is ripped off:

The "Fake Weed" and synthetics go away.

The massive consumer demand stays exactly where it is.

The state is forced to answer: Are we going to let Wisconsin farmers grow the real thing, or are we going to keep sending millions in tax revenue to Illinois and Michigan?
Keep the Money (and the Plants) in the Badger State
I don’t want to be a middleman for out-of-state farms. I want to grow real, potent, sun-grown cannabis for Wisconsinites right here. I want the tax dollars from my sales to fix our roads and fund our schools.
By ending the "loophole" era, we stop playing games with chemistry and technicalities and start treating cannabis like the agricultural powerhouse it is. We don't need "diet" weed or out-of-state flower. We need Full Federal and State Legalization that respects the license I already hold.
Let’s stop settling for the loophole. Let’s demand the right to grow the whole plant.
